According to this, in the time it takes to flip through this book, the light can cover
the length of the diameter of the earth’s orbit, which would take half a year for the earth to travel, from winter to summer.

De l’ordre des superficies

Give concrete expression to numbers informations, makes palpable abstract data.
This question is recount into this “surfaces register” of some objects, places and spaces (from the pixel to the Milky Way).
On the right page appears only a black rectangle whose area increases from one page to another, in proportion to the DIN A3 standard size (here the reference unit).
When the black rectangle reaches the A3, a scale change is made.
On the left page you can see how many previous surfaces the present surface may contain. Thus the comparison is possible with an equivalence ratio made from one page to another.

Transposing a badminton field into full-scale on 336 A3 sheets of paper, allows us to question space in the form of surface. The field acreage is then considered vertically rather than horizontally. We can then put side by side sport fields and have an idea
of their surface ratio. Furthermore it is possible to hold in your hands a tennis field.
